Note*According to family lore, this gentleman had three wives and a set of twins (boy and girl) by each one. Ida's mother was his last wife.

Sometime after Ida and her twin were born, he signed everything over to this wife and entered the Old Soldiers' Home. A census record confirms this. He served in the Civil War.

In 1870, a Thirsten Lofland is found in St. George, New Castle County, Delaware.

In 1890, Trusten is in Locust Township, Christian County, IL with wife Emma, son William, daughter Ida. Some records also refer to Thurston (probably the same person).

A T. P. Lofland is mentioned in The 11
Census1910; Taylorville, Christian, Illinois; age 62, with Emma, wife, age 67. Both parents born in Delaware. Emma and both her parents born in Missouri.12

He leaves no immediate survivors. Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday at the Avery E. Neagle Funeral Home, the Rev. James E. Mahagan, rector at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Soule Cemetery.
