Wheeler ID #7782, but I believe the correct George is the George Whelour I have assigned here (ID #8386) because the family composition fits better. This George and his wife had no children yet in Bath on August 7, 1820. John was born August 16, 1820. This couple have John and Gilbert plus several daughters, all the right ages in later censuses.

This person is a candidate relative of John Wheeler b. 1820 in Both and also of George H. Wheeler, based on several facts gleaned from the 1820 Census in Bath, Steuben County, NY:

A George Wheler (sic) is found next door to Jeremiah, Jr. and Mary, each of whom is a head of household. The ages suggest that George and Jeremiah, Jr. are brothers and that Mary is their mother. Their father, then, would be Jeremiah. Notice that there are several other children ranging in age from under 10 to over 26. The youngest among them are probably children of George and Jeremiah, Jr., but the older children could welll be their siblings. Mary is probably a widow.1,2
